Courtesy visit this Thursday, June 24 by an OSS delegation to the CRDA of Jendouba where training demonstrations on the use of Earth Observation for the Sustainable Management of Water and Natural Resources proceed through GMES operational services and the MISBAR (monitoring of seasonal agriculture and agricultural water use) and the MISLAND (monitoring of land degradation) platforms.
This training session was an opportunity to stress the importance of capacity building for the proper ownership of the two platforms and their functionalities. A hands-on exercise in monitoring crops, based on the example of Jendouba, was carried out.
The OSS delegation, led by Mr. MIMOUNI, Technical Coordinator of the GMES & Africa project and Head of the OSS remote sensing/GIS unit, was supported by Mr. Moncef BEN MOUSSA, representative of the CNCT.
Mr. Marwen SELMI, Head of the Agricultural Studies and Statistics Department, CRDA Jendouba, Mrs. Houda RZIGUI, Senior Engineer at the Water and Soil Conservation (WSC) Department, and Mr. Mokhtar AYED, Head of District/ESA Jendouba took part in the Training.
