The Sahara and Sahel Observatory experts are organizing, from February 20 to 23, 2024, training sessions on the use of the MISLAND, MISBAR and GUETCROP tools for the benefit of the National Center for Mapping and Remote Sensing (CNCT) and its technical Officers. The CNCT, Coordinator of GMES&Africa in Tunisia, plays a key role in mobilizing and involving Tunisian stakeholders for the operationalization of the seasonal agriculture and land degradation monitoring services.
The GMES North Africa Consortium is aware of the fundamental role of training for better ownership and effective use of the project products and services and has adopted a capacity building approach for trainers and end users which will allow the CNCT high-ranking officers to improve their skills in the use of the tools developed, particularly for monitoring agricultural campaigns, monitoring degraded areas, detecting illegal boreholes, etc.
