AfriCultuReS and GMES & Africa - North Africa: data collection for monitoring and modelling crop growth in Tunisia, 11-15 February 2019
22nd Feb 2019 inAs part of the AfriCultuReS and GMES & Africa OSS & Africa OSS-North Africa projects, an OSS delegation composed of three experts in remote sensing and GIS (Mustapha Mimouni, Mohamed Aziz Belhamra and Louis Evence Zoungrana) organized a field mission to collect data for monitoring and modelling crop growth in Tunisia. The field visit mainly concerned the communes of Bousalem, Jendouba North, Jendouba South and Oued Mliz.
GMES & Africa equips its 13 consortia with robust Monitoring and Evaluation tools, Tunis, 19-22 February 2019
20th Feb 2019 inExperts and focal points responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the 13 GMES & Africa consortia and African consortia across Africa, organized a monitoring and evaluation workshop in the Tunisian capital. The four-day workshop aimed at strengthening the capacities of the focal points, with a view to fostering common understanding and supporting experts by providing them with the necessary monitoring and evaluation tools and protocols for the GMES & Africa implementation process.

OSS hosts the first GMES & Africa Technical Committee Meeting, 14 – 16 th May 2018
18th May 2018 inAs part of the first meeting of the Technical Committee of the Global Monitoring for the Environment and Security in Africa Program (GMES & Africa), held in Tunis from 14 to 16 May 2018, a visit to the OSS headquarters was organized for the Committee’s members. Following a welcome address delivered by the OSS Executive Secretary, Mr Khatim Kherraz, the GMES & Africa delegation was able to meet with the OSS staff and to have a closer and more detailed idea about the Organization’s work in the field of spatial observation.
