The OSS - North Africa Consortium is organizing a third set of tele-training sessions on the use of the two services : “Seasonal Agriculture Monitoring” and “Use of Agricultural Water in Irrigated Areas” for the benefit of its national partners and end users, in the five relevant countries: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania and Tunisia. 

As part of the GMES and Africa - North Africa Consortium project, the OSS has set up an online training program on the use of the three decision support services: Water, Agriculture and Land Degradation. This online training program should make it possible to get started with the use of the two service platforms, "MISBAR" for agricultural water use and seasonal agriculture monitoring services and "MISLAND" for the Land Degradation monitoring service.Three types of training are scheduled:

The OSS, in cooperation with the CNCT, has started a tour among the end users of GMES & Africa services in order to collect feedback from the four pilot sites of the project in North Africa : Bizerte, Jendouba, Nabeul & Kairouan (Tunisia).

A second training session on the “water” and “agriculture” services is scheduled on December 15-16, 2020, on the OSS virtual platform.

The OSS, in partnership with CRASTE-LF, is organizing a set of trainings on the use of GMES services, as part of the GMES and Africa project.

The second training session on Earth Observation for a Sustainable Land and Water Management in North Africa, organized by the UN-affiliated CRASTE-LF, with the collaboration of the OSS-North Africa Consortium and GMES & Africa partners, started this morning.

The Tele-training workshop on “Earth Observation for seasonal agriculture monitoring” started today as part of the GMES and Africa project (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security in Africa) OSS - North Africa Consortium.

The opening of the works took place with the presence of Mr. Khatim Kherraz, Executive Secretary of the OSS, the Director of CRASTE LF, and the representative of the GMES & Africa project (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security in Africa) OSS - North Africa Consortium.

As part of the GMES and Africa Program, the African Union Commission invited communicators of the 13 program consortia to a capacity-building workshop.

As the first phase of this program is coming to end, this workshop, in which the OSS takes part in the person of Mrs. Nadia Khammari, Communication Officer, reinforces awareness-raising, mobilization, commitment and decision-making techniques of the main targets of this program at regional and continental level.

The geospatial decision support services restitution workshop for natural resources sustainable management, was organized  by Al-Asriya University of Nouakchott – UNA, on January 20, 2021 in Nouakchott. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OSS took part in the workshop through its videoconference platform.
