VIRTUAL TRAINING SESSION TO TRAIN USERS ON THE USE OF MISLAND, AUGUST 25TH, 2021

Did you know that the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions is Land sector with 25% of global emissions right after the energy sector and that half of said emissions (5-10 GtCO2 annually) result from deforestation and forest degradation?  

Indeed, 2.6 billion tons of carbon dioxide, representing one-third of the CO2 emissions comes from burning fossil fuels and is absorbed by forests every year (source: IUCN).

TRAINING WORKSHOP "REVIEWING THE REPORTING OF SDG INDICATOR 15.3.1 BASED ON THE NEW UNCCD BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES".

As part of the GMES@Africa project, a first training session, organized by the Sahara and Sahel Observatory, took place on August 18 and focused on «Reviewing the reporting of the SDG indicator 15.3.1 based on the new UNCCD best practice guidelines». This session will be followed by a set of five (5) tele-trainings dedicated to “Land Degradation/Restoration Monitoring” service.

ADAPTWAP PROJECT BUILDS CAPACITY OF NATIONAL PARTNERS ON NEW FINANCIAL REPORTING METHODS, COTONOU, MARCH 24-25, 2021

OSS organized a training workshop for the national partners of the three countries of the AdaptWAP project (Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger) on the use of the CIEL COMPTA software. This training, provided by OSS financial experts Rafik Ziadi and Nejib Ben Saoud, should enable beneficiaries to become familiar with the software, facilitating collaborative work and the production of effective and harmonized financial reports.
